Studio on a Budget & Classic Guitar

I'm starting this one at 6am on a Monday morning because life got in the way of spending this time recording some classical guitar. I was able to get hold of one that my Dad had laying around so I plan to take it on short term loan for a track I am working on. That recording would of took place now if it wasn't for the little one deciding to be awake since 3am. Needless to say I wasn't going to be doing mic recordings with him in here...
Its now been a couple of weeks since I wrote that first paragraph. Needless to say life got in the way even more. Not that i'm complaining though, I know full well that family comes before the creative stuff and I know I will always be back when I have time. Since starting this post I have completed my classic guitar recordings with great success. I have about 6/7 takes of my track "Anywhere" down and hopefully that will be enough for the foundation of the track as it grows. As expected, the vocal collaborations for this track have been coming on pretty slowly. I think that is for the best though because it really allows me to get a good foundation for the track in my own time before I try to fit vocals in. Once I have added in the piano and other little synths I feel like it will give a really good picture of what i'm going for with this track and that will make vocal recording easier.
On the studio renovation side of things, I have just had a new desk delivered. It will be replacing the storage unit I am currently using as a desk, once I have cleared out most of its contents. I still have a lot of stuff in there that I need gone. If I want to have the best space possible for my work then i need to be brutal with getting rid of stuff that I know I wont use. Even if it is something that could be valuable, selling it will give me the funds for stuff I actually need. With a limited budget I need to make the most of what I have. I probably have enough stuff to sell to fund some acoustic treatment and a peg wall for better storage. Im also planning to repurpose the storage unit into shelves to go above the recording space. That might require some woodworking skills though, and some strong brackets. All of these plans will probably tale a few months but at least I am making progress so far!
I wanted to add a few pictures to this one but I think ill save it for next post when I clean up the studio a little...
