As summer rolls in life is only getting busier. The family is spending lots of time prepping for the summer while we are also prepping for the little one to transition to primary school. That means very little time for creative works, neither the less iv still be trying.
Studio Progress
I still want to get the studio painted. I imagine it will take around 2 days of work so I may even take some time off so I can fit it in when people aren't home. I spent some time there the other day trying to record some classical guitar (the one I was only supposed to be borrowing for a week). I couldn't help but notice how the room was effecting the sound and not in a good way. I really want to get the acoustics sorted with a recording corner so I can minimise this issue. Still a ways to go though and a fair bit of saving up to do.
Acoustic Summer Tracks
The recordings I mentioned previously were part of the summer tracks i wanted to work on. I had a fun little idea of messing around with a delayed attack on guitar chords. Iv noticed that you can get almost a pad like effect by doing this. Iv always liked the idea of mixing natural sounds with subtle digital effects and this is a perfect example of that. As long as I used big open chords that really exposed teh high end, I found it had a pretty good result. Im keen to have another go with better recordings to see if i can pull a unique track out of it.
