Holiday & Field Recordings

With the Wwise Montage project moving smoothly, I have spent most of the week building a collection of sounds to build into assets. Most of it has come from a mix of my sample library and recordings in the studio but there is still a fair bit to do. Im expecting my progress to slow a little this week as the family are getting ready to go away for my little ones 4th birthday. Im expecting it to be a very busy but fun get away with most of our time spent doing child activities. Despite the theme of the holiday I will never the less be bring the trusty handheld for any potential field recording opportunities that may occur. Im not expecting an awful lot of time for it but I am excited to make use of my new on the go recording set up including my new stage in ear monitors which I theorised would be good for monitoring field recordings with minimal equipment bulk. After all, I need to make sure my bag has room for all the essential holiday packing.

As the next blog day falls on my little ones actual birthday it is most likely I will be skipping next weeks post. I cant imagine there would be a lot to update on anyway. While I in no way feel overwhelmed with my creative stuff right now it always good to take breaks to focus on the other important things now and then. Especially once in a life time events like 4th birthdays! Im looking forward to spending the time focusing making good memories with family and when I get back I imagine it will be full on Halloween mode both creatively and everything else.
