As of last night I have had the opportunity to move around my studio... again. After a surprise addition to our family, we need a new unit for Flash the tortoise. Turns out that my shelving unit/ desk is just the right size for the job meaning it will be moving down stairs. That leaves me on the market for a new desk and an opportunity to reprioritises my layout. I have a pretty clear plan set out in my head for this but the one thing it doesn't account for is my ever growing collection of gear. Over the years I have found myself collecting a number of musical bits and bobs to serve as inspiration for my work and just for the joy of trying them out. I have quickly found out however that owning all of this stuff quickly uses up studio space. With my room still being in progress I have found myself in a position where I need to either give up some gear or get very creative with storage options. Right now I am trying to achieve the latter. Its times like this where I am reminded of the importance of prioritising the right gear.
